Meet the Assistant Principal

 

Mr. Willie Ray – Educator | Coach | Leader

Willie Ray is a passionate educator and coach with a strong commitment to student development—both academically and athletically.  A native of York, Alabama, he is a proud graduate of Sumter County High School, where he won two state championships in basketball.

He went on to play collegiate basketball at Miles College, where he earned his Bachelor's degree. He later earned a Master’s degree from Alabama State University and completed Instructional Leadership certification at the University of West Alabama (UWA).

Coach Ray brings a wealth of experience to every role he takes on, having coached Varsity Girls Basketball, Varsity Track & Field, Varsity Girls Flag Football, and Boys JV Basketball. He believes that preparation is the key to success, living by the motto: “Fail to prepare, you are preparing to fail.”

More than just an athletic leader, Willie Ray is driven by the deeper purpose of education. He stands by the belief that, "Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all." – Aristotle. His mission is to shape not only skilled athletes and students but well-rounded individuals ready for life’s challenges.
